Honor's YOYO Claw agent now runs on Zhipu's GLM-5.3
China's device makers are plugging frontier models straight into their agents, and Honor just became the first big name to ship Zhipu's new flagship.
Honor's cross-device AI agent YOYO Claw now runs on Zhipu's GLM-5.3, the model the lab released Thursday — making Honor the first major device maker to adopt the new open-weights model. The company's all-scenario software lead, Xi Yingjun, announced the integration on the evening of August 14, calling it a full upgrade of Claw's "shrimp brain." YOYO Claw is Honor's agent for its PCs and tablets: it entered closed beta in late March, debuted at Honor's April PC event, executes tasks across Honor devices, and can connect to OpenClaw agents running on third-party hardware. The upgrade lands a day after Zhipu shipped GLM-5.3 — same base model as GLM-5.2, with every gain coming from post-training scaling.
Zhipu claims the new model pushes coding ability 50% above GLM-5.2 and tops the open-source leaderboard on Terminal Bench 3.0 and Agents' Last Exam (CLI). It also beefs up the security side: in white-box code review and vulnerability discovery, Zhipu says GLM-5.3 performs on par with Mythos 5, its frontier closed model. Weights are due to open two weeks after release, once safety evaluation and hardening wrap up. Why it matters: integrations like this are how Chinese labs convert benchmark wins into installed base. Honor is a top-five global phone maker, and it chose a domestic model for an agent that spans PCs and tablets — a signal that hardware vendors now want agentic models with coding and security chops, not just chat. It also gives Zhipu a distribution channel that pure API sales can't match, and puts a model with demonstrated offensive-security capability directly into consumer devices.
